REVERIE PRODUCTIONS is one of the few established not-for-profit theatre companies in
New York
devoted exclusively to developing playwrights and producing new plays dealing with contemporary socio-political issues. Reverie has mounted 21 full productions, 18 of which were New York, U.S. or world premieres of new works, including Carson Kreitzer's Valerie Shoots Andy and Self Defense or, death of some salesmen, Robert O’Hara’s Brave Brood and American Ma(u)l, Ariane Mnouchkine's Mephisto, and John Clancy’s Fatboy starring Mike McShane, which won a 2004 Edinburgh Fringe First Award. Reverie has premiered three winners of its Next Generation Playwriting Contest at 59E59 Theaters (Havana Bourgeois by Carlos Lacámara, Ping Pong Diplomacy by Joe Basque, and Billboard by Michael Vukadinovich). Recent productions include Rearviewmirror by Eric Winick, which garnered a Drama Desk nomination for actress Sarah Nina Hayon, the New York Premiere of Ariel Dorfman's Widows, directed by Hal Brooks, and the WET INK Festival of New Plays.
